Promoting his new film “Crazy, Stupid, Love” - which hits theaters on July 29th - Steve Carell called in for a quick chat with “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Monday morning (July 18).

The Michael Scott actor first commented on James Spader being hired for "The Office".

Approving of the situation, Steve said, “I think it was a great move. I think he is an excellent choice. There going back to work in two weeks so its going to be really wierd. I think that’ll be the first weird pang that I get like I’m the only one not going back to school, and everyone else is.”

With things around “The Office” still settling down after Steve Carell's departure last season, it has been confirmed that James Spader will join the cast.

The “Boston Legal” actor made an appearance on the hit NBC program this past Spring and will return as CEO Robert California of Dunder Mifflin’s parent company Sabre.

Last night marked the 59th Anniversary of the Emmy Awards. And the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles was packed by Hollywood’s A-list to see who won what. And “The Sopranos” walked away with three awards, including the coveted “Outstanding Drama Series” honors.

The now-defunct HBO series was lucky to win the award, as it rarely goes to a show that has been canceled. Tony and the gang also snagged trophies for “Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series.”
